iPhone Gamers Not Popular Yet |

Although the iPhone has been seen in the pocket of every yuppie that is too cool to own a Blackberry, it is not a real threat to gaming handhelds such as the Nintendo DS and Sony PSP. The Apple iPhone now has access to the iTunes Application Store, which includes lists of games that publishers have made for the iPhone and its many trendy owners.
Nintendo of America's President, Reggie Fils-Aime, did not seemed to be worried. Essentially, there are about 100 million Nintendo DSs in use in the world; that isn't causing Nintendo to fret much over the iPhone's ability to play and download games.
Sony sees the iPhone as an indirect competitor of the PSP, since it also has the ability to play video and music. The company isn't extremely worried, though, since people buy iPhones in order to talk on the phone and people buy PSPs to play games. The consumer bases for the two products are extremely different. Not to mention, the game play of the games on the iPhone are more similar to the games on the DS; the Sony PSP can play richer games with more detail.
DS and PSP... you're safe for now.
