Vin Diesel's The Wheelman Pushed Back |
![]() |
Vin Diesel, the bald tough-guy actor we all love, is behind a game that has been in the works for a while now. It is called The Wheelman and it is all about (surprise!) cars. Diesel's Tigon Studios is working with Midway Games, MTV Films, and Paramount Pictures to develop this action car/racing game. It was originally announced back in 2006 but it has been delayed time and time again. Just recently it has been pushed back even further - to early 2009 instead of the previously approximation of "anytime in 2008."
In the first quarter of 2009 The Wheelman is going to be available for a test drive on the PS3, Xbox360, and PC. It was most likely a very good decision, because all of the game play that has been leaked of The Wheelman has seemed a little rough around the edges. Although the action sequences involving Vin's character jumping out of cars to bitchslap people in mid-air were pretty neat, overall the game seemed a little too unrealistic. The physics engine wasn't quite up to par and the graphics needed to seem a little more natural.
The coolest thing about this game is that you play as a digital Vin Diesel and the game is an actual forerunner to a movie coming out in 2009. So not only can you get your adrenaline pumping with The Wheelman (the game), you will be able to see yourself on the big screen in The Wheelman (the movie). Oh Vin, I think I can forgive you for The Pacifier now.
