Valve Steam Cloud Will Provide All |
![]() |

From heaven on high, Valve hath presented us with many a good thing. First, our dear Gordon Freeman running around killing head crabs. Then, Valve hath brought the Orange Box with PORTAL. Then, the great Valve announced that Steam Cloud support will ship with a Left 4 Dead demo later on in the week. If the bloody, fast-paced, zombie survival game whets your appetite you can download the full version of the game on November 18 through Steam Cloud.
The first version of Steam Cloud will support saving settings for user configure; this will include keyboard, mouse, and gamepad settings. What it means is that the settings themselves are tied to the account and you won't have to fiddle with them every time you log in to play a game.
But wait! There's more! On a list of future updates for the Steam Cloud download service, expect to see a save game update. With save games, your progress in any game would be stored in the almighty Cloud. This would completely vanquish the need to transfer saves between computers. All of your saves would be available to your chip-encrusted fingertips at any computer, as long as you're logged into Steam Cloud.
In essence, Steam Cloud will provide all from on high. Alleluia.
