The US Army, A.I., and Warcraft

Don't let anyone ever convince you that video games have no real application in life.

Recently, it has been rumored that the U.S. Army is hoping (in a long string of weird research) to test realistic holographic soldiers in online MMOGs like World of Warcraft and Eve Online. This is according to the online defense journal DoD Buzz and we're not too sure if they have hemlock in their Diet Snapple or not. We're checking.

So yeah, cool. The government, AKA Skynet, are making realistic computer-generated entities with artificial intelligence. The holographic 3D soldiers could be used for military training simulations and war games and in order to get them all ready for dominating humans, they are going to be unleashed in WoW.

The soldiers will be able to respond to human stimuli, make decisions, kick ass, and enslave us all.

    Sweet.
