The Reason for Bungie's Teasers |
![]() |
Earlier this month, Bungie.net had some very suspicious messages up. They asked gamers to be patient and not to panic- obviously this sent out some major signals that something big was going to go down. Last Monday it was evident that Bungie was planning to make a big announcement and were failing to keep it hush-hush. So after days of excitement being built up and tents being pitched in the pants of gamers... Bungie then announced that they were not ready to reveal their big project, at the wishes of their publisher. The ripple of disappointment was felt worldwide.
So who was the publisher who was so stingy with information? If you guessed Microsoft, you were right on the money. Microsoft executive Don Mattrick spoke to the LA Times regarding his company's situation with Bungie. According to Mattrick, the revelation of Bungie's newest Halo game was pulled from the E3 conference because of time constraints. Apparently Microsoft felt that simply a mention of the Halo game at a conference was not enough and it required a more dedicated event.
So what will this new Halo game be like, if it requires an unique event just to reveal it? The theories that have been flying around lately surround a spin-off game involving squads and strategic gameplay. Although the game may be missing Master Chief, if Bungie can pull off a violent UNSC versus Covenant battle, it could still be great.
