The Nintendo WiiMote Has a Brand New Add On

  • All Nintendo Wii owners will acknowledge that the motion sensor is great, but a little bit tempermental at times. With the rest of the world competing to make perfect "Wii-like" remotes for the PC and other systems, Nintendo decided to get its rear in gear and develop a truly remarkable add on for the Wiimote. The Wii Motion Plus plugs into the bottom of the Wiimote and gives the remote the ability to recognize 3D space.

This means that the Wiimote will be a hell of a lot smarter when it comes to waving around your extremities. It will now provide a 1:1 ratio response to the movements of the controller. The Wiimote will be able to recognize movement, height orientation, and relative orientation. This is a truly exciting tidbit about Nintendo's product, but what makes it even more exciting is thinking about the games that this add on was created for. Realism is going to be at its peak.

On a bitter note, it was rumored that Microsoft was going to announce a motion sensitive remote for the Xbox360; it looks like Nintendo just stole Microsoft's thunder.
