The Economy is Failing Because of Warcraft

  • I know why the economy is in a recession- the single reason why. Too many people are too consumed with World of Warcraft. Instead of learning a trade or having a professional job and making money, people are paying $15/mo to play WoW.

Maybe I'm not an economist, but the numbers make me think that this is the reason. Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. announced that World of Warcraft has more than 11.5 million subscribers worldwide. This ridiculous number was reached after the new expansion, the Wrath of the Lich King, was released.

In the first day of the release, the Wrath of the Lich King sold more than 2.8 million copies, thus making it the fastest-selling PC game of all time. See? This is why my hours at Blimpies got cut. WHY?!
