GameRecoil -> -> New Nintendo Handheld Device in Japan by End of the Year

  With sales of the DS finally declining in Japan (it's quite possible every single Japanese citizen already owns one), analyst Michael Pachter has stated that Nintendo could launch its newest handheld system by the end of 2008.

   

  Nintendo recently released its financial report and boasted a 34 percent increases in the fist fiscal quarter. Since most of this year's DS systems will end up in European and American hands, the Japanese are apparently ready for the next handheld.

   

  "It is likely that DS demand will continue to decline in Japan, and we think that Nintendo has a new handheld device ready for launch in that terrirtory before the end of the calendar year," said Pachter.

   

  Of course Pachter is a mere mortal, so we'll see what develops in the coming months.
