LittleBigPlanet Levels Get Deleted, Gamers Pissed

  • LBP

The point of LittleBigPlanet is to make creative worlds and levels that are completely unique and then play through them and share them with your gaming community. But now, Sony is completely murdering that sense of fun by destroying certain user-made levels. It isn't a surprise that most of the LittlteBigPlanet gamers are feeling particularly murderous.

There seems to be a pattern for all the levels that are being deleted by Sony; if the company believes your level to contain content that is inappropriate for all-ages audiences or content that infringes on some copyrights it will certainly get the axe. Be that as it may, most of the gamers who have had their elaborate levels deleted without warning are pretty pissed.

Sony could have avoided pissing off a large percentage of its LBP gamers by defining the criteria for acceptable content in the levels a little more clearly. Sam Bennett, who is a senior community development manager for Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, claimed that the company is attempting to define what is "inappropriate" a little better.

"We have been looking into the current issues surrounding the moderation of LittleBigPlanet levels, as it is clear that we're not currently going far enough to inform users who have had a creation moderated why the action was necessary," said Bennett. "We are moving towards a system whereby rather than receiving a generic message any affected user will also receive an indication of what was found to be infringing on the EULA. We're additionally looking to provide clear, plain language directions on what is and is not acceptable to be published through the game."

So until there are concrete rules, here are some of my own guidelines you can follow:

    Don't upload anything with penises.

Don't uploading anything related to TV shows, music, movies, or the world in general.

    Don't play the game.
