Final Fantasy XIII Demo and Release Date

  • Square Enix made announcements at the DK Sigma3173 regarding Final Fantasy XIII. There are plans to release a playable demo in March of FFXIII. Aside from that good news, more information was released regarding the new RPG.

At the event, developers eventually spoke openly about Final Fantasy XIII and its Xbox360 version. People everywhere are excited to hear more information about the (potential) simultaneous release of the PS3 and Xbox360 version of the game. It was a big shock when the Xbox360 version development was announced at this year's E3.

Although it'd be nice if there weren't any changes with potential release dates, it doesn't look like that will be the case. There are two reasons to remain skeptical about a timely release on both consoles: director Motomu Toriyama stated that they are making the PS3 version before the Xbox360 version. If both platforms would receive the game at the same time then the PS3 version would most likely be held back to wait on the Xbox360 version. Also, the team that is going to work on the Xbox360 game haven't received the development kits for it yet.

PS3 fans, do not worry. The game will not lose any quality because of multi-platform aspect to this Final Fantasy. The developers are going to focus on the PS3 version first and foremost.
