GameRecoil -> -> Final Fantasy VII NOT Being Remade...Yet

  Recently, there have been rumors spreading like wildfire regarding a Final Fantasy VII remake due out this month. Photos and videos were posted online showing an advertisement for the remake on the PlayStation 3 with a release date of August 16, 2008.

   

  Although thousands of tents were pitched in pants at the sound of this rumor, GameRecoil has to be the bearer of bad news- it is obviously false. As a child who pretended to be Cloud Strife until he was 18, believe me, I share your pain.

   

  

   

  First of all, if there was going to be a Final Fantasy VII remake, major announcements would have been made months before the release date; FF7 was by far the most popular flavor of the Final Fantasy games. Secondly, Best Buy stores were contacted as well as Square Enix and both deny that any advertisements being put up regarding a Final Fantasy VII remake.

   

  Although no one can confirm if there are any plans for a remake in the future, it is certain that the remake won't be released this Saturday.
