Cursed Mountain Graphics to be Extra Creepy

Cursed Mountain, a Wii game that is in development, is being created by Sproing Interactive Media GmbH and Deep Silver. It will be set in the awe-inspiring environment of the Himalayas and the developers want to make sure that the graphics are as realistic as possible. Players will experience breathtaking landscapes, fierce weather and horrible ghouls. It is especially important to make all of these things as realistic as possible so that players become immersed, not so it is reminiscent of playing with cardboard boxes, which was a family staple for me in the 90s.

The creators plan on using the "Athena" game engine. The engine will include HDR-Rendering, shader simulations, an ultra-fast particle system, soft particles, depth of field, motion blur, dynamic soft shadows, spherical harmonics lighting, as well as a high performance level-of-detail and streaming system.

All of these techie terms describe something pretty basic; the Athena game engine will allow the weather, enormous landscapes and other interactions to be very, very cool looking. Also, you will be crapping your pants often, the developers created custom special effects for when you're battling ghosts. So look forward to dark levels, creepy sounds, and ghosts that go bump in the night. In the Himalayas.
