Activision Hates Giving Us Free Tunes |
![]() |

Guitar Hero: World Tour has a lot of great qualities. It makes for cheap dates and fun drinking games. It also is the first rhythm-matching game that lets you create your OWN tunes via tiny plastic guitars and then upload them to GH Tunes. GH Tunes is the application you would use to share user-created content; so far it isn't reaching its full potential... but oh. OH how Activision will help.
In 10 days, GH tunes has gained over 25,000 user-generated songs and through the application anyone and their brother can download the songs themselves to play with. So in order to fatten some pocketbooks, Activision is considering tapping into GH Tunes with ability to offer these songs on a subscription basis. Now kudos to the company for thinking of a great way to tap into the desires of consumers... but shit son! I like free stuff.
BUT, I just want to say that if we're paying already for normal DLC what will motivate me to pay for someone else's crap they made in their grandmother's basement? In my opinion, if they aren't good enough to be signed they aren't good. Therefore, I shouldn't be paying for their crap.
Just my thoughts.
